Prohibiting Breed-Based Insurance Discrimination

Assembly Bill 893 / Senate Bill 364

Prohibits restrictions on renters’ insurance policies based solely on the harboring of a dog of a specific breed or mixture of breeds.

Online Pet Sales Protection

Assembly Bill 1672 / Senate Bill 6822

Amends existing law which prohibits repossession of dogs and cats in purchase contracts to include sales through online websites.

Animal Cruelty and Risk Protection Orders

Assembly Bill 6656 / Senate Bill 5514

Includes consideration of evidence of aggravated cruelty to animals when determining whether there are grounds for a temporary extreme risk protection order.
